Welcome Back to The Walt Disney Family Museum

We are happy to announce that The Walt Disney Family Museum plans to reopen to the public on Thursday, November 5. We missed you and cannot wait to see you at the museum soon! Come experience Walt Disney’s uplifting life story through our innovative galleries, memorable artifacts, and original artworks.

Beginning Thursday, November 5, the museum will be open Thursday through Sunday from 10am to 5:30pm, with last gallery entry at 4:15pm, and will be closed Monday through Wednesday for the remainder of the year.

To accommodate our guests safely and to ensure proper distancing, we require all guests—including members—to reserve tickets prior to their visit. Admission will be available on a timed-ticket basis with limited capacities set for each time slot. Visit our Tickets page to purchase or reserve tickets. Members of The Walt Disney Family Museum are invited to visit our members-only ticket reservation page to reserve your free tickets. Tickets will be released in short-term increments to ensure availability. If tickets for your desired date are not yet available, please check back as additional dates continue to be added.

Details on our upcoming special exhibitions The Walt Disney Studios and World War II and Veterans Voices: Painted Realities, including opening dates, will be forthcoming.

The museum cares deeply about the health and safety of our guests and staff. We are therefore taking the following measures to ensure an enjoyable experience:

  • Face coverings are required at all times for staff and guests ages three and over
  • Increased cleaning frequency and procedures implemented throughout the day
  • Distancing of at least six feet required for both guests and staff
  • Additional hand sanitation stations installed throughout the museum and signage indicating handwashing locations
  • Installation of clear acrylic coverings in transactional areas
  • Directional signage and placement of staff to ensure continual flow and eliminate crowding
  • Modified gallery interactives and listening stations that can now be experienced using the WDFM mobile app, headphones, or disposable styluses available free of charge
  • Capacity limitations for daily attendance and all spaces
  • Daily staff health checks prior to arrival at the museum
  • Due to current restrictions, our café, water fountains, coat check, theater, and Learning Center will remain closed until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience.
  • We ask that visitors take a self-screening questionnaire before visiting the museum. Please stay home if you are experiencing symptoms. If you purchased tickets and need to reschedule your visit, email tickets@wdfmuseum.org. Members can email membership@wdfmuseum.org for similar inquiries. Although no refunds are available, our team is happy to reschedule your visit.

We deeply appreciate your support during our closure and your cooperation as we reopen. We thank you for helping create an enjoyable experience for everyone and very much look forward to welcoming you back to The Walt Disney Family Museum.

WDFM Mobile App + Translated Tours

We encourage you to download our new mobile app, WDFM, prior to your visit to the museum. We created this app to make the museum accessible to guests of diverse abilities, economic circumstance, geographic location, and language. Additionally, our app now includes audio for many of the modified listening stations in the museum in order to provide a safe, hands-free way to experience Walt's voice as you visit our galleries.

The WDFM app utilizes a number of innovative features and helpful educational tools that allow users of all ages and abilities to explore the museum galleries at their own pace and learn unique facts about Walt Disney. For those visiting the museum, the app provides gallery-by-gallery tours in 12 languages, as well as an Audio-Described Tour for people with vision impairment and a Scavenger Hunt designed to engage with younger guests. Translated languages include American Sign Language, Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish.

Wheelchairs + Strollers

In addition to providing better access to the museum’s content, we are also committed to creating an accessible environment for all of our guests. Manual wheelchairs are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis and are fully sanitized between uses to assure guest and staff safety. We also welcome all personal wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, and compact strollers.

Please visit the Ticket Desk if you would like to borrow a wheelchair or compact stroller. We recommend that guests leave larger strollers in their vehicles and borrow a compact stroller from the museum.

Additionally, our museum welcomes the use of larger mobility strollers and larger mobility wheelchairs.

Our museum makes large stroller and wheelchair accommodations for mobility and accessibility purposes only. We do not allow other oversized strollers or luggage into our galleries.
